Racers to Test Stamina in Key West's Hemingway 5k Sunset Run and Paddle


Looking for a unique challenge this summer? Why not try the Hemingway 5k Sunset Run and Paddleboard Race! This two-sport event, held annually in Key West, Florida, is a highlight of the Hemingway Days festival celebrating the life and work of Ernest Hemingway.

Competitors can choose to participate in the 5k run/walk or the 3-mile paddleboard race, or take on both challenges for a 10% discount. The course for the paddleboard race takes place on the Atlantic Ocean, while the 5k course winds through the picturesque streets of Old Town Key West on Saturday, July 23.

Athletes of all levels are welcome, and there are even virtual participation options for those who can't make it to Key West. The entry fee includes a collectible race tech shirt, finisher medal, food, libations and giveaways.

The fee for the run/walk is $59 per person, as is the fee for the paddleboard race, through June 26. Fees are $65 per person thereafter. Athletes who register for both challenges receive a 10% discount on their second event. Military and local discounts are available as well. The entry fee includes a collectible race tech shirt, finisher medal, food, libations and giveaways.
