Presidential Family Forum and 'Give 'Em Hell Harry' to Take Center Stage in Key West
January 24, 2023 • KW Tourist
This Presidents Day weekend, the Key West Harry S. Truman Foundation and The Society of Presidential Descendants are hosting a series of activities to honor the legacy of the former presidents. On Saturday, February 18th, descendants of former presidents Eisenhower, Truman, Ford, Taft, Cleveland and McKinley are coming together to discuss their famous relatives, bipartisanship, and the roles of a president in the one-of-a-kind Presidential Family Forum.
The forum will be moderated by Dr. Kurt Graham, director of the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum. Following the discussion, there will be a brief meet-and-greet reception.
The weekend will also include performances of the one-man show "Give 'Em Hell, Harry!" starring Clifton Truman Daniel, former President Truman's oldest grandson. This production is an accurate and humorous exploration of Truman's life and presidency. Additionally, there will be a Presidents Day cookout, guided tours of the historic Little White House and self-guided botanical lawn tours.
The proceeds from the weekend will help support the preservation and programming of the not-for-profit Key West Harry S. Truman Foundation. The Little White House has hosted former presidents Roosevelt, Kennedy, Carter, Clinton and even Taft, who was photographed on the property in 1912.
