New Year's Eve 'Drops' to Dazzle Key West Revelers

This New Year’s Eve, escape the cold weather and join the festive celebrations in the Florida Keys! There are plenty of unique and fun events to enjoy, so you’re sure to have a memorable night.

For the 25th year, the Bourbon St. Pub complex will be hosting the ‘Red Shoe Drop’, featuring renowned drag queen Sushi. Just seconds before midnight, a red high heel will be lowered from the balcony of the complex, with Sushi in it, as the crowd below cheers. There will be performances by female impersonators and other local and national talents on the street-side stage, so make sure to get there early and enjoy the show.

If you’re looking for something a little different, head over to Sloppy Joe’s Bar for their ‘conch shell drop’. There will be live music and dancing, and just before midnight a giant conch shell will be lowered from the rooftop. The Schooner Wharf Bar is also celebrating with a ‘pirate wench’ drop, as well as live music and dancing.

Finally, the Sunset Pier at Ocean Key Resort & Spa will be hosting the ‘Key lime wedge drop’, where a giant replica of a Key lime wedge will be splashing down into a margarita glass. There will also be a Gatsby-style party with a ticketed event at First Flight Island Restaurant & Brewery, and the Smokin’ Tuna Saloon will be doing a ‘tuna drop’.
