Key West Songwriters Festival to Feature 50-Plus Shows May 3-7

Over 250 performing songwriters, including Jelly Roll, will take part in the 27th annual Key West Songwriters Festival, which is set to feature a number of events for music fans. With more than five days of concerts and other activities, the festival, put together by Rams Head Presents and the BMI performing rights organization, will host more than 50 shows and jam sessions in idyllic island settings. Country stars such as Elle King and Mitchell Tenpenny are among the artists playing at the festival over the course of the five-day event.

The festival will kick off with a multi-artist show at the Ocean Key Resort's Sunset Pier, starring Robert Randolph with the Dylan Altman Blues Band and festival favorite James Slater. The event begins on May 3rd and continues through May 7th. The festival's lineup includes former Mavericks frontman Raul Malo and the Love Junkies, a songwriting super-trio. Most of the festival's shows feature rotating groups of writer/performers, and many have no admission fees. The most up-to-date event schedule, can be found on the official Key West Songwriters Festival app, available through the Apple App Store or Google Play with direct links at keywestsongwritersfestival.com/copy-of-schedule.

The festival concludes on Sunday, May 7th, after a day of live music capped by an 8 p.m. all-star encore at the Key West Theater. The festival will be hosted at a plethora of island city bars, restaurants, resort beaches, and poolsides, with ticketed groups to be held in almost every imaginable venue, including the San Carlos Institute, a Cuban cultural center at 516 Duval St., and the Fury Catamaran during an exclusive sunset cruise.
