Key West Power Boat Races Secured Through 2031

Race World Offshore Keeps the Key West World Championship Power Boat Races in Key West Through 2031

Race World Offshore has secured the future of the Key West World Championship Power Boat Races with a new five-year agreement with the City of Key West, keeping the world-famous offshore racing finale in Key West through 2031. The agreement strengthens one of the island’s most recognizable November traditions and gives teams, sponsors, fans and vendors long-term confidence in the championship’s Key West future.

The 2026 Key West World Championship is scheduled for November 1–8, 2026, with Truman Waterfront Park expected to return as Race Village. Race week traditionally brings high-speed offshore competition, international race teams, public boat displays and a full lineup of fan-focused events. Major highlights are expected to include the Sunday Boat Parade down Duval Street, the Thursday Greene Street Party for Charity, and the Friday Duval Street block party.

Race World Offshore’s Key West announcement also connects the island to a broader championship expansion. RWO has confirmed multi-year rights to operate major UIM and APBA offshore racing series across North America for the 2026 through 2031 seasons, with Key West serving as the season-ending championship stage.

The event continues to command major attention in the offshore racing world. In 2025, the 44th annual Race World Offshore Key West World Championship drew a record 98 race teams from the United States and seven other nations. With the new agreement in place, Key West remains firmly positioned as the home of offshore powerboat racing’s most dramatic championship week.
