Key Lime Pie to Star in Key West Festival June 30 Through July 4

Almost every traveler to the Florida Keys samples Key lime pie, the island chain’s signature dessert. And there's no better time to try this delicious treat than during the annual Key Lime Festival. This year's festival runs from Thursday, June 30 to Monday, July 4 and features a variety of fun and delicious events.

One of the most popular events is the Key Lime Pie Eating Championship. This messy contest challenges entrants to devour an entire 9-inch pie, topped with mountains of whipped cream, in the fastest time possible. The chow-down competition is free to watch and always a crowd favorite.
