Creatively Costumed Critters to Compete in Quirky Key West Contest

Looking for a fun and furry event to enjoy during Fantasy Fest? Then be sure to check out the Pet Masquerade! This annual event is a highlight of the festival, and features a wide variety of costumed critters strutting their stuff on stage.
There's sure to be a lot of competition, as pets and their people vie for prizes in categories like most exotic attire, best theme adaptation, and overall winner. And with the 2022 Fantasy Fest theme of "Cult Classics & Cartoon Chaos," we're sure to see some creative and fun costumes inspired by pop culture favorites.
This year, the Pet Masquerade will be held October 26 at Coffee Butler Amphitheater, at Truman Waterfront Park, 21 E. Quay Road. The event will begin at 6:30 PM, and will feature a variety of frisky pets and their owners competing for fame, fortune, and prizes. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Lower Keys Friends of Animals. Spectators are welcome to attend the event for free, with ample seating as well as space for attendees’ blankets and lawn chairs.
Registration for competitors begins at 5 p.m. and the fee is $25 per category.
