Key West Songwriters Festival Celebrates 30 Years with Island-Wide Music Experience
KEY WEST, Fla. (April 24, 2026) — For five days this spring, Key West transforms into a living soundtrack as the Key West Songwriters Festival returns April 29 through May 3, 2026, celebrating its 30th anniversary with one of the most anticipated music events in the country.
Presented by BMI and hosted by the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association alongside Rams Head Presents, the festival brings more than 200 songwriters to stages across the island—turning iconic bars, waterfront venues, and historic spaces into intimate listening rooms where the stories behind the songs take center stage.
A Launchpad for Music’s Biggest Names
Over the past three decades, the festival has built a reputation as a proving ground for artists on the rise. Before becoming household names, artists like Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, and Kane Brown all performed on its stages early in their careers.
That tradition continues in 2026, with a lineup featuring standout performers including Ashley Cooke, HARDY, Jack Ingram, Robert Earl Keen, Lori McKenna, Liz Rose, Brian Kelley, Rissi Palmer, and Robert Randolph, among many others.
Five Days of Music Across Key West
The festival opens Wednesday, April 29, with the Sunset Pier Kickoff Party at Ocean Key Resort & Spa, featuring performances by Jeffrey Steele and The Brummies as the sun sets over the Gulf.
One of the most anticipated highlights arrives Saturday, May 2, when ERNEST headlines the festival’s signature free Duval Street block party, turning the heart of Old Town into a high-energy, open-air concert experience.
The festival wraps Sunday, May 3, with “Sunday Songs: Music & Mimosas” at Williams Hall—a laid-back finale blending acoustic performances with a relaxed island atmosphere.
Throughout the week, Rams Head Southernmost Bar & Restaurant serves as festival headquarters, hosting performances that bring fans face-to-face with the writers behind the music.
A Legacy Built on Songwriters
The festival’s enduring appeal lies in its deep connection to the songwriting community. Longtime participants like Bob DiPiero, Jeffrey Steele, Chuck Cannon, Tia Sillers, and James Slater have returned year after year—helping shape the collaborative, storytelling-driven atmosphere that defines the event.
Since acquiring the festival in 2021, Rams Head Presents has expanded its reach while maintaining the authenticity that keeps both artists and fans coming back.
A One-of-a-Kind Key West Experience
With performances unfolding across beaches, bars, and historic venues, the Key West Songwriters Festival offers a rare chance to experience music in its most personal form—where chart-topping hits are stripped down to their roots and shared directly by the writers themselves.
Whether discovering new talent or hearing the stories behind familiar songs, the 30th anniversary edition delivers a uniquely immersive experience that blends music, storytelling, and the unmistakable atmosphere of Key West.
