Yachtley Crew Live at Key West Theater – The Titans of Soft Rock

Yachtley Crew sails into the Key West Theater for a night of timeless hits, smooth harmonies, and infectious fun that has made them America’s ultimate Yacht Rock band. Since bursting onto the Southern California club scene in 2017, this seven-piece ensemble has transformed retro soft rock into a national craze—earning the attention of the late Jimmy Buffett, who signed them to his Mailboat Records label, and later landing with Earache/Universal Records.

Led by vocalist Phillip Daniel (Philly Ocean) and backed by their nautically clad crew—Rob Jones (Sailor Hawkins) on drums, Chaz Ruiz (Baba Buoy) on bass, Thomas Gardner Jr. (Tommy Buoy) on guitar, Curt Clendenin (Stoney Shores) on backing vocals, Paul Pate (Pauly Shores) on saxophone and flute, and Matt Grossman (Matthew McDonald) on keyboards—the band delivers a nostalgic yet electrifying set. Fans can expect to hear classics such as Boz Scaggs’ “Lido Shuffle,” Ace’s “How Long,” Robbie Dupree’s “Steal Away,” Christopher Cross’ “Ride Like the Wind,” Toto’s “Africa,” Looking Glass’ “Brandy,” and Rupert Holmes’ “Escape (The Piña Colada Song).”

Their Seas the Day EP, produced by Grammy-winner Chris Lord-Alge, not only celebrates these soft rock favorites but also introduced their playful original single “Sex on the Beach”, with a music video featuring Mario Lopez. Most recently, the band added a festive twist with Seas and Greetings, their holiday EP that reached the Billboard Top 40.

From the Stage to the Spotlight

Yachtley Crew’s growing influence has seen them appear on HBO’s Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary, Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, and SiriusXM’s Yacht Rock Radio as the first Yacht Rock band to perform live at the studio. Their music has been part of Emmy-winning New Year’s Eve specials, morning television, and major charity events like the Mario Lopez Golf Classic Tournament. Managed by industry veteran Andy Gould (Rob Zombie, Guns N’ Roses, Lionel Richie) and represented by Jim Lenz at TKO, the group shows no signs of slowing down as they prepare for a new Diane Warren-penned track on their upcoming 2025 album.
