On Saturday, attendees will witness the heartwarming return of “Luna Diana,” a magnificent 270-pound loggerhead sea turtle, as she makes her way back to her ocean home. Rescued last month after suffering a boat strike injury, Luna Diana received comprehensive care at The Turtle Hospital, including wound care, antibiotics, fluids, and vitamins, ensuring her strength and readiness for release.
The event will commence with the arrival of The Turtle Hospital ambulance at 11:10 a.m., followed by the official sea turtle release at 11:30 a.m. This unique occasion not only celebrates wildlife conservation but also provides a memorable experience for nature enthusiasts and visitors to Key West. Experience firsthand the joy and determination of marine life as Luna Diana embarks on her new beginning in the open ocean.
