The Expanding Man: An Original Tribute to the Music of Steely Dan & Beyond
When: January 31, 2027 8:00 PM
Where: Key West Theater, 512 Eaton St, Key West, FL 33040
The Expanding Man brings the sophisticated sound, unforgettable songs, and jazz-rock brilliance of Steely Dan to the stage for a high-energy live concert experience. Fronted by Steve Memmolo, a finalist on NBC’s The Voice, the band combines world-class musicianship with humor, personality, and plenty of spontaneous moments.
The performance features Steely Dan favorites including “Peg,” “Josie,” “Reelin’ in the Years,” and “Kid Charlemagne,” along with original music inspired by the clever songwriting, complex harmonies, and distinctive style of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen.
Joining Memmolo is acclaimed guitarist Jon Zeeman, whose credits include performances with Susan Tedeschi and members of The Allman Brothers Band, along with award-winning composer and pianist Peter Primamore. Together, the musicians capture the precision and musical sophistication Steely Dan fans expect while giving the songs room to stretch, explore, and come alive onstage.
More than a traditional Steely Dan tribute concert, The Expanding Man delivers an engaging performance filled with inventive arrangements, musical interplay, and audience interaction. For longtime Steely Dan fans, jazz-rock enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates exceptional live musicianship, The Expanding Man offers a fresh and memorable night of music.
