The 27th Annual Key West Lobsterfest, scheduled for August 8-11, 2024, is a vibrant event that celebrates the opening of Lobster Season. This festival offers an array of activities and entertainment, focusing on the enjoyment of fresh Florida lobster and the diverse music scene of Key West.
The event kicks off with the Original Lobster Boil at The Porter Mansion courtyard, Caroline's Cafe, on August 8 from 6 pm to 9 pm. This traditional lobster boil offers a unique culinary experience in a historic Key West location, though it's important to note that space is limited and tickets are required.
On August 9, there are two major events: a Pool Party at the Marker Key West Harbor Resort from 3 pm to 6 pm, which is open for free admission, and the Lobsterfest Duval Pub Crawl from 8 pm to midnight. The pub crawl includes an official T-shirt and is available for $20 in advance, serving as a lively way to explore Key West's vibrant nightlife and support the Key West High School’s Scholarship Fund.
The Street Fair & Free Concert on August 10, from 12 pm to 11 pm, spans the 100 - 500 Blocks of Duval Street. This part of the festival features a variety of lobster dishes at booths along Duval Street and is free to attend.
The festivities conclude with the Lobster Brunch at First Flight Island Restaurant & Brewery on August 11, from 10 am to 2:30 pm. This all-you-can-eat and drink Florida Lobster brunch requires tickets and offers a last chance to enjoy fresh Florida lobster for the weekend.
In addition to the mouthwatering seafood, the festival is known for its live music performances, featuring local bands like Just George, Fried Newt, and The Killer Dudes.
