Liberation at Red Barn Theatre

Experience one of the most celebrated new plays in American theatre as Liberation arrives at the Red Barn Theatre from March 2 through March 20, 2027. Written by acclaimed playwright Bess Wohl, this witty, moving, and thought-provoking production transports audiences to 1970, when women across America were demanding a greater voice, equal opportunities, and a seat at the table during the early years of the Women's Liberation Movement.

Blending sharp humor with heartfelt storytelling, Liberation explores the dreams, struggles, and friendships of women determined to shape a better future while navigating the realities of family, identity, and social change. Praised by critics for its emotional depth and engaging dialogue, this memory play balances laugh-out-loud moments with genuine suspense and powerful reflections that continue to resonate today.

Directed by Artistic Director Joy Hawkins, the production stars Morgan Fraga Pierson, Lauren Thompson, Cassidy Timms, Fritzie Estimond, Jessica Miano Kruel, Ivy Munnerlyn, Shannon Edwards, and Jack McDonald. Performing Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Liberation is a powerful highlight of the Red Barn Theatre's 47th "Bold, Dazzling, Iconic" season.
