Key West Art & Historical Society: Remember the USS Maine 125th Anniversary

In this Distinguished Speaker Series program, KWAHS's Dr. Cori Convertito presents a commemorative program on the 125th anniversary of the sinking of the USS Maine in Havana Harbor. The cause of the massive explosion that killed most of her crew in 1828 has never been definitively resolved, but it was a precipitating cause of the Spanish-American War that began shortly thereafter. Her talk will reveal surprising results of her own research into the destruction of the USS Maine. The presentation takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. at Tropic Cinema, 416 Eaton St. Tickets $15.
