Sloppy Joe’s 47th Annual Toga Party – Fantasy Fest 2026

One of the longest-running and most recognizable traditions of Fantasy Fest, the Sloppy Joe’s Toga Party transforms the legendary Duval Street bar into a sea of creative togas, outrageous costumes and classic Key West revelry. Known as the original Fantasy Fest toga tradition, it continues to live up to its reputation as “Still the Best Toga Party in Town.”

Live music keeps Sloppy Joe’s moving throughout the day before attention turns to the famous Toga Contest. Contest registration begins at 8:15 PM, with the competition starting at 9:00 PM. Participants can compete individually or in groups of two to four, with Sloppy Joe’s gift cards valued at $500, $250 and $100 awarded to the top three winners. After the contest, the Nightbreakers keep the celebration going with live music.

Creativity is a huge part of the tradition. Classic Roman-inspired togas mingle with elaborate Fantasy Fest creations, and costumes often incorporate the year’s official theme, “Musical Icons & Iconic Musicals.” A simple sheet can get someone into the spirit, while serious competitors turn their togas into full-scale works of wearable art.

All ages are welcome before 9:30 PM, after which the venue becomes 21 and over with valid identification required. There are no reservations, and the Toga Party traditionally attracts a large crowd, so arriving early is worthwhile for anyone hoping to be inside for the contest.
