CFK Swim Around Key West

The College of the Florida Keys Swim Around Key West is a 12.5 mile journey around the beautiful island of Key West. The race begins at Higgs Beach and makes its way around the island, passing through the Key West Harbor and Sigsbee before arriving at the finish line back at Higgs Beach. Along the way, swimmers will have the opportunity to witness the wildlife and aquatic life of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico.
The race is open to both solo swimmers and teams of up to six people. Solo swimmers can compete with fins, monofins, or mermaid tails and relay teams may use fins. Each swimmer or team must have their own escort craft, such as a kayak or motor boat. All safety boats will have Event Flags and lifeguards will be stationed throughout the course.
The event will start on June 16th with a pre-race check in and packet pick up from 10am to 7pm. The next day, June 17th, participants will check in from 7am to 7:45am and the race will begin sharply at 8am. Award ceremonies will take place at 1pm, 3pm, and 5pm on Higgs Beach.
For those who are interested in mermaiding, a mermaid show will be held on June 16th at 10am and 2pm. There will also be a chance to transform into a mermaid/merman after the show.
