Schooner Wharf Bar Wreckers Race #1 – January 2026
The 41st Annual Schooner Wharf Bar Wreckers Race Series launches its first race of the season with a celebration of Key West’s legendary 1800s wrecking heritage. This historic Key West sailing race recreates the competitive dash once made by local wreckers racing to salvage grounded ships along the reef.
The mandatory Captain’s Meeting takes place on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Schooner Wharf Bar in the Key West Historic Seaport. Captains and crews receive race instructions, course details, and safety guidance while enjoying complimentary Pusser’s Rum punch and hors d’oeuvres.
Race Day follows on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 1:00 PM, featuring a 7-mile course from Key West Harbor to Sand Key Lighthouse. The start is best viewed from Mallory Square, where spectators can watch schooners, multihulls, classics, and monohulls surge toward open water in one of winter’s most visually striking maritime events.
