Three 90-minute sets: 5:30-7:00, 9:00-10:30, and 11:00-12:30Isaac Eady's New Orleans-based, deep-groove septet, Third Moon, made their Green Parrot debut with a rhythm section composed of New Orleans' bandleader, drummer, songwriter, and multi instrumentalist Isaac Eady, and bassist Brandon Boone, both freshly-minted members of the The Tedeschi Trucks Band.The pair, joined by the triple-threat horn section consisting of New Orleans trombonist Edward Juicey Jackson of TBC (To Be Continued) Brass Bandand and previously of The Hot 8 Brass Band, and the twice-Grammy-nominated trombonist Jose Maize from The Rumble, and previously a member of the Mardi Gras Indian funk band Cha Wa, as well as Yirmey Yisrael on Saxophone, and guitarists Henry Green and Caleb Tokarska, served up three inspired, free-flowing but hauntingly precise sets that must have suggested to Parrot patrons that they had been at once lifted en masse from our little corner at the end of the road, and teleported directly to the Crescent City’s music-drenched Lower 9th Ward, with sets managing to both epitomize the NOLA funk-style brass band street music, as well as Eady and Boone's blend of classic soul, gospel, and New Orleans funk.
