Kermit's Key Lime Shop, a staple in Key West for over three decades, offers a delightful experience for those looking to indulge in the authentic taste of Key West. The shop's origins trace back to Kermit Carpenter, who started his venture selling smoothies in front of Papa’s Restaurant in Key West. The business evolved to focus on gourmet food and Key Lime products, which became the hallmark of Kermit’s Key West Key Lime Shoppe.

Located on the corner of Elizabeth and Greene, near the bight area of Key West, the shop initially faced challenges due to its proximity to a sewage pumping station. However, the founders believed in the potential of the location, which eventually became a premier spot in Key West.

The expansion of their product line was a thoughtful process. Kermit and his sister Anita compiled a comprehensive list of potential Key Lime products during a long drive to Maryland, which became the blueprint for their diverse offerings. Today, Kermit's Key Lime Shop not only serves customers in Key West but also ships their products nationwide, thanks to their production facility in DeLand.

In 2011, the shop expanded its reach with a new location on Duval Street, bringing their Key Lime delights closer to more visitors. Their famous Key Lime pie on a stick, dipped in Belgian chocolate, is a must-try for anyone visiting Key West.

The shop's offerings extend beyond pies and pie bars to include Key Lime juice, cookies, candy, sauces, salsa/relish, specialty oils, jams/jellies, dry mixes, nuts/snacks, seasonings, gift assortments, bath & body products, and accessories. This variety ensures that there's something for everyone, whether you're a local or a visitor looking for a taste of Key West.

For those interested in purchasing Kermit's products, it's important to note that overnight shipping is required for pies and pie bars to ensure freshness upon delivery.

Kermit's Key Lime Shop is more than just a place to grab a quick bite; it's a part of Key West's culinary heritage, offering a unique taste of the island's flavor and charm. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning fan, a trip to Kermit's is a must for anyone looking to experience the authentic taste of Key West.
