The Iconic Sloppy Joe’s Bar is a Key West institution that has been around since Prohibition was repealed in 1933. The bar has seen its share of famous patrons, including Ernest Hemingway, and has a laid-back, down-to-earth atmosphere that has kept people coming back for generations.
Sloppy Joe's moved to its present location in 1937 after being forced to move from its original location due to a rent increase.
Today Sloppy Joe’s is open 365 days a year and is a great place to catch live music and dancing from 9 am – 4 am. Live rock – n – roll to bluegrass music entertains the nightly crowds in this rustic, large doored, fan-cooled retreat. Check out the store with its many souvenirs laden with Hemingway’s face. Check out the menu and music schedule too.
